CULTURE & SHOPPING IN LANDECK
The shopping city of Landeck, only a few minutes away from Sonnenhang, offers a multitude of shops for a lovely little shopping trip. One highlight is the weekly Landecker Frischmarkt, a market that is held every Friday and delights visitors with regional specialties. Moreover, the area is home to many different cultural events, such as the well-known “Stanz brennt” or the “Horizonte” festival in Landeck.
Schloss Landeck
This castle guards the old Roman road, Via Claudia Augusta, and sits impressively over the city of Landeck. Today, it tells the interesting history of the Tyrolean Uplands with its permanent exhibition “Bleiben oder Gehen”. It has its own gallery that features regularly changing exhibits by local & international artists. Children can look forward to an informative treasure hunt.
NATURE PARK HOUSE & EXHIBIT AT GACHENBLICK
Above Fließ, the so-called Gachenblick connects the Kaunertal, Pitztal, and Inntal valleys. There, there is a Nature Park Hose with a fascinating multimedia exhibit, “Vertikal 3000” for a very special journey of discovery through the Alpine world.

The Alpinarium is a key component of the protective wall that was built after the avalanche event in 1999. An interactive museum on the topic of high-Alpine living of a special kind, with an exciting permanent exhibit on the topic of “Ganz oben - Geschichten über Galtür und die Welt” [Way up high - Stories about Galtür and the world]. Also available on site: a café, a boulder area, seminar rooms.
